At ApplicationEditing.com, we are committed to your satisfaction. This Refund Policy outlines when and how refunds may be issued for our editing services.
Our Satisfaction Commitment
We stand behind the quality of our editing services. Our goal is for every client to feel confident submitting their application materials. If you are not satisfied with your edit, we encourage you to use your included revisions before requesting a refund.
Refund Eligibility
Cancel Before Work Begins (Full Cash Refund Less Processing Fee)
You may cancel any individual line item in your order at any time before Dr. Michele begins working on it. From your dashboard, open the order and click "Cancel item" on any line item that has not yet been started.
Cancellations are processed individually per line item, so you can cancel some items while keeping others. Once work has begun on an item, that item can no longer be cancelled by you — please contact us if there is a problem.
Self-cancel availability. Dashboard self-cancel is currently available for credit/debit-card-paid orders that do not have a gift card, promo code, or service voucher applied. If your order includes any of those, please email us and we will process the cancellation manually.
Cancellation Processing Fee
When you cancel a line item, your refund equals the price you paid for that item, less a cancellation processing fee. This fee is the pro-rated share of the original card processing fee that the payment processor (Stripe) keeps even when a refund is issued. For credit/debit cards this is approximately 2.9% + $0.30 of the original transaction (rates may differ for international cards or other payment methods). Rather than absorb that cost ourselves, we deduct the proportional share from your refund.
Single-item example: if you cancel a $100 line item from a $100 order, your refund is $100 − ($100 × 2.9%) − $0.30 = $96.80 credited back to your card. For partial cancellations of larger orders, the $0.30 fixed portion is split across the cancelled items by share of the order total.
Cancel After Work Has Started (Contact Support)
If work has already begun on a line item, you cannot cancel it from the dashboard. Email us and we will review your situation. Refunds for in-progress items are considered case by case. The price you paid for editor time already spent is generally not refundable, but we will work with you in good faith to find a fair resolution.
No Refund After Delivery
Once your edited document has been delivered, refunds are not available. Instead, please use your included revisions to address any concerns with the edit. This ensures you receive the full value of your purchase.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please email us at:
Include the following information in your request:
- Your order number (found in your confirmation email or dashboard)
- The email address associated with your account
- Reason for requesting a refund
We will review your request and respond within 2-3 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days and returned to your original payment method.
When Refunds Are NOT Available
Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
- Application Outcomes: We cannot guarantee admission to any program, and refunds are not available based on application results
- Completed Orders: After your edited document has been delivered (use revisions instead)
- Change of Mind: Deciding you no longer need the service after editing has begun
- Failure to Provide Materials: If you do not submit your documents within 30 days of purchase
- Terms of Service Violations: If your account is terminated for violating our Terms
- Missed Deadlines: If you fail to submit your document with sufficient time for editing before your application deadline
Revisions vs. Refunds
We encourage you to use your included revisions before considering a refund.
Revisions allow you to request additional changes to your edited document at no extra cost. This is often the best way to address concerns since it results in an improved final product that meets your expectations.
All orders include 1 revision. Revision requests must be submitted within 7 days of receiving your edited document. After this period, your order will be automatically finalized.
Expedited Orders
Expedited (24-hour) orders follow the same refund policy as standard orders. However, due to the faster turnaround time, the window for cancellation before editing begins is significantly shorter. If you need to cancel an expedited order, please contact us immediately.
Gift Cards, Vouchers, and Promo Codes
Gift cards and promotional vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash, except where required by state law (see "State-Law Cash Redemption" below).
If a gift card was applied to your order
When you cancel some but not all line items in an order, your applied gift card stays attached to the remaining items. The cash refund for the cancelled item is calculated against the price you paid for that item, less the cancellation processing fee.
If cancelling enough items would leave the remaining order subtotal lower than your applied gift card balance, the difference is automatically credited back to your gift card balance — never as cash.
If a service voucher was applied to a cancelled item
The voucher is restored to your account and can be used again on a future order. No cash is refunded for the vouchered portion of the cancelled item.
If a promo code was applied to your order
When you cancel a line item from an order with a promo code, the promo discount is recalculated against your remaining items. The promo's discount value on the cancelled item is forfeited as part of using the discount — it is not refunded as cash. If your remaining order falls below the promo's minimum-order threshold, the promo is voided.
State-Law Cash Redemption
Where required by state law, residents of certain states may request cash redemption of remaining gift card balances below the state's threshold (commonly $5–$10 depending on jurisdiction). This is a manual process — please email us with your gift card code and we will verify your state of residence and process the request.
Dispute Process
If you are dissatisfied with our refund decision, you may request a review by:
- Replying to the refund decision email with additional information
- Clearly explaining why you believe the decision should be reconsidered
- Providing any relevant documentation or correspondence
We will review escalated requests within 5 business days and provide a final decision. Our goal is always to find a fair resolution.
